I cannot recall the exact quote from Novell’s (now former) head in South Africa, but we have it documented in this site. He said that Miguel and Nat were like a “red carpet” (to Microsoft).

this is why i think ubuntu should focus/develop it’s desktop around kde or in my opinion make a huge step ahead and start building around E17.

Let’s not forget Miguel’s buddy at Ximian/Novell, Nat Friedman — who actually *did* work for Microsoft. I remain convinced that both Miguel de Icaza and Nat Friedman, and perhaps others, are on a secret Microsoft payroll, and are being paid to subvert open source from within. I do not trust them. They are ugly, unpleasant people.
