Econoff

Summary: Research assistance needed regarding Econoff, who helps Microsoft and others behind the scenes

Compare a search on the White House Web site for "Econoff" (0 results) with a Cablegate search for "Econoff" (12,927 cables found) and ask yourselves who runs foreign affairs in the United States. I've researched this further.

Econoff seems to have MASSIVE influence over US policies yet he exists almost nowhere (the name) except in secret cables. Econoff is not only in Asia. He's all over the place, from east Asia to the middle east and south America too. Econoff was mostly a secret until over a week ago when Wikileaks released Cablegate unredcated. Is he a powerful spook?

"Allegations Of Uranium Trafficking in 2007" is a document "Classified By: DPOPOVICH, ECONOFF, Reason 1.4 (b), (c), (f)." What's this all about? Search Cablegate for "econoff" and you will find this personality everywhere. This has more results than Google yields (mostly just Cablegate mirrors). Who is this then? It is hard to decipher some Cablegate material when some of the most frequently mentioned people are unknown to the public, unspoken about. If anyone knows who Econoff is, please share the knowledge. We are still working on cables with yet more volunteers who offer help.

Update: Econoff turns out to be an unnamed economic officer.
