CAUTIONARY TALE: Ukraine's Story Shows Proprietary Software Ought to be Avoided
There's a lot to be seen and to be said about what goes on in Ukraine from a purely technological perspective; at times of war nations are, in general, vastly better off with Free software, not "licensed" proprietary software from some other nation

[Meme] Patent Invasion
We’ve just seen that the European Council, which includes the President of the European Commission (Miss Ladson), is fine with violations of very fundamental rights at the EPO
European Council Complicit in European Patent Office (EPO) Abuses
The EPO continues to become more of a massive liability to the reputation and functioning of the European Union (EU); tolerating the profound corruption of Benoît Battistelli and António Campinos for the sake of imposing an illegal ‘legal’ system is something we might expect from Putin’s Russia, not Europe

We Need to Start Self-Hosting Wherever and Whenever Possible
The clown computing bubble is going to burst sooner or later, just like social control media; we need to prepare for the implosion and keep information circulating
[Meme] Josef the Spectator
The EPO‘s fake chief (Josef) has done absolutely nothing to hold Benoît Battistelli accountable and keep António Campinos honest; he’s more than complicit and he was recently rewarded for this complicity, along with his deputy, the 'Borg'
Better Late Than Never: ILO Subjects the EPO's Management to Some Belated Justice (Sans the Removal of Immunity, so Nobody is Being Held Accountable)
There’s some good news from Geneva; the EPO is being served many rulings that reaffirm its negative stigma in spite of António Campinos wasting millions of Euros on lawyers who fight his own staff
The End of JoinDiaspora. Thanks for All the Fish...
JoinDiaspora will help users move to another pod; but JoinDiaspora itself has only weeks left to live (unless there's a change of heart/strategy)
Under IBM Management, Red Hat Has No Will to Survive
Red Hat seems to be falling apart and now it recruits from the company least suitable as a source of workforce; this isn't some isolated incident but part of a long-going pattern or trend

SPAM is Ruining the World Wide Web and We Need to Talk About That
The World Wide Web (WWW) has a pandemic of misinformation, but to make matters worse a lot of sites have turned into spamfarms, sometimes shrewdly disguised as "news", "reviews" etc.
What EPO Staff Really Thinks
"Preparation for the 2022 fifth edition" of the EPO staff survey has begun; it remains to be seen if the messages get 'lost in the mail' of the ever-so-busy President (Campinos), who is often responsive only when it suits him

Battistelli 2016, Campinos 2020, and Campinos 2022
[Meme] Artificial 'Productivity'
Grant like a Philpott, say managers who think that the EPO is like a private, for-profit corporation and patents (monopolies) are just “products” to be sold to “customers” (applicants)

António's EPO is Dead, Long Live the EPC?
In spite of media silence and complicity (conspiracy of passivity), the EPO’s staff commences a series of bold actions — scheduled to last at least until summer — in order to impose the EPC (and the Rule of Law) on the rogue employer; in a ballot which closed last night 84% voted in favour of industrial action comprising months-long slow-downs and several strikes (9 out of 10 employees in Munich, the EPO's headquarters, considered participating in such an action last month)
[Meme] Oversight at the EPO
The EPO has no notion or any understanding of separation of powers; it seems to boil down to a dictator beholden to private firms and not to the law
EPO -- Both the Patent Office and the Patent Organisation -- Celebrating Constitutional Violations, Covering Up Human Rights Abuses, and Promoting the Facilitators
There’s no hope or real prospect of the EPO‘s administration correcting its ways or properly assessing itself; industrial action by people who do all the actual work at the EPO might be the last remaining avenue
