If you are a B10 and cant weather a financial storm from a layoff then you shouldnt have been in that position to begin with if you dont have the ability to save and invest appropriately given the salary. [09:05] schestowitz[TR3][09:05] schestowitz[TR3]Ubuntu MATE was made an official Ubuntu flavour in 2015, and its first official long-term support (LTS) release arrived the following year. There will be no Ubuntu MATE 26.04 LTS release, however, as it did not apply for LTS qualification1 and now we know why.
[09:05] schestowitz[TR3]As another development cycle passes, I find myself lacking the time I once had to work on Ubuntu MATE. And, to be frank, I dont have the passion for the project that I once had. When I have time to tinker, my interests are elsewhere, Wimpress writes.
[09:05] schestowitz[TR3]With that in mind, Im interested in handing over the reins to contributors who do have the time and energy to work on Ubuntu MATE.

[09:07] schestowitz[TR3][09:07] schestowitz[TR3]Canonical has just released the beta of the next Ubuntu LTS but what's grabbed the attention of many is that it features GNOME 50 as its default desktop environment. And GNOME 50 no longer supports Google Drive.

[17:03] schestowitz[TR3][17:03] schestowitz[TR3]Until Qt6, Qt's QML module, which is used extensively in the new text tool, would then recursively query all active screen objects, like comboboxes or buttons, and up and down the entire class hierarchy for accessibility features. This slowed down Krita to the point where even menus would be slow to open.
[17:03] schestowitz[TR3]It was extremely tricky to figure this out, since none of the Krita developers actually use these external applications... But it should be fixed now!
