i would not give an excessive weight to the wording "patent claims" in Q1. In Q1 and in Q2, the wording is limited to "claims" [00:32] -TechBytesBot/#techbytes-ipkitten.blogspot.com | BREAKING: Referral to the Enlarged Board of Appeal on claim interpretation confirmed (G1/24) - The IPKat [00:32] schestowitz[TR2] "I see no reason why A. 69 should not also be applied for consideration of patentability - it can work both ways. If the specification says "gathered" includes "spirally wound" then for a claim reciting "gathered", spirally wound prior art is anticipatory. Likewise, if the specification states that "gathered" means "drawn together with a draw string", this is the meaning of "ga [00:32] schestowitz[TR2] thered" in the claim." Does the phrase "should continue [00:33] schestowitz[TR2] " indicate that proceedings will continue even if a party makes a request for a stay of proceedings and the outcome of those proceedings depends entirely upon the answers to the questions referred in G 1/24?

It certainly seems that the Notice from the President is intended to serve as an edict, with Examining and Oppositions Divisions forbidden from contravening the rule that it sets out. However, if that is [00:33] schestowitz[TR2] the case, then the President is essentially instructing all Examining and Oppositions Divisions to commit substantial procedural violations in cases where, by rights, a stay of proceedings should be imposed (upon the request of a party)." Tembo Data Systems Inc., operator of a PostgreSQL managed service, today said it closed a $14 million Series A funding round that brings its total financing to $20.5 million.

The company says its developer-focused, meaning it wants to simplify the task of installing and managing PostgreSQL as well as the more than 200 extensions in its ecosystem. Tembos strategy is to make as many extensions as possible available using a package manager and registry it built called Trunk.

The web is a cornerstone of modern civilization. However, despite its open nature, the financial backbone of the webs most popular browsers is predominantly tied to advertising revenues from tech giants like Google.

    [16:33] schestowitz[TR2]

For good or bad, this financial dependency can lead to compromises in user privacy and a lack of diversity in browser technology. Major browsers like Chrome, Edge, and Opera are based on Googles Chromium project, highlighting the pervasive influence of a single companys technology.

At the same time, Apple gets billions of dollars to set Google as the default search engine on Safari, while Firefox also makes hundreds of millions annually through a similar arrangement.

This means more of Mint's accessories must diverge from their upstream GNOME bases. So now there's a new tool to configure online accounts, based on the older Gtk3-based libgoa tool, called rather confusingly, we feel GNOME Online Accounts GTK. This works with Cinnamon, Xfce, MATE, and the Budgie desktop. Mint 22 also reverts to the older, Gtk3-based versions of the Celluloid movie [16:36] schestowitz[TR2] player, as well as GNOME Calculator, Simple Scan, the Baobab disk usage analyzer, System Monitor, GNOME Calendar, File Roller, and Zenity. Also, as described in the May blog post, there's a new Software Manager, which opens much faster. Installation of unofficial Flatpak packages is now disabled by default, and if you enable it, unofficial packages are clearly highlighted. Given the recent problems with fake apps in Ubuntu's Snap [16:36] schestowitz[TR2] store, this problem looks likely to grow.

Linux Kernel Panic QR Codes: Nerdy Or Awesome?
    [16:41] schestowitz[TR2]
    [16:41] schestowitz[TR2]

If youre nerdy like me, tell me if this one is familiar to you. You make a tweak to your machinedesktop or laptop, and during the boot process, theres a kernel panic.

    [16:41] schestowitz[TR2]

Its an experience Im definitely familiar with when it comes to Hackintoshing. Often, error messages would fly by so fast that I would have to take my phone, record the screen, and then frame-by-frame, uncover the error. Absolute pain, but honestly kind of exciting for the right kind of nerd.

    [16:41] schestowitz[TR2]

But it makes life a challenge for actually trying to figure out whats wrong with your computer, especially if the error is extremely technical because you made some sort of hardware or software change that borked the whole thing.

Its what the US army used during WW2 and they emulated that. When Gerstner came on board IBM in the 1990s it was down to 6-1. He promptly cut excess headcount (60k over 18 months) and moved the manager to employee ratio back to 15-1. Today IBM is running at 6.5 employees to 1 manager. Looks like its time for a haircut. IBM has always been over managed [22:12] schestowitz[TR2] which results in its almost 2X overhead cost vs its nearest competitors. Being over managed when you are the only game in town is an affordable executive perk/luxury. Being over managed when you are struggling to survive is a fault of the executive team, and shouldnt be tolerated. During hard times executives get paid big bucks to make the corporate entity efficient and focused. AK its time to step up, or step off. You have a [22:12] schestowitz[TR2] head count problem that is causing inefficiency and lack of focus.
