We provide a frsher approach to slow the rate that these accounts are being eroded and dismembered by smaller and more nimble competitors. They are not directly comparable because they work in different market segments. IBM's primary business is enterprise-scale hardware, software and consulting, and Kyndryl's primary business is managed enterprise infrastructure. [10:13] schestowitz[TR2] The idea of a business "overtaking" another is, IMHO, too ambitious in most situations. Personally, I think a better question to ask is: Can a business survive (and maybe even thrive) at what it's currently doing? [10:13] schestowitz[TR2] The jury is still out on that one, for both companies. [10:13] schestowitz[TR2] Kyndryl will certainly overtake IBM in business and pound them into the dirt, given enough time. Couldn't happen to nicer executives. This is nothing more than gathering up more enterprise experience. NOTE you dont see IBM purchasing or expanding the distributed envio (HW, SW, or services) in any way. Even though distributed makes money (20-35% margins), it cant support IBMs overhead thus expect it to get partnered off. Kyndryl anyone? They proved they could operate on 20-30% margins wh [10:13] schestowitz[TR2] ile shifting 80-85% of their work to low cost countries. Distributed fits into their sweet spot as far as customer base is concerned and the question would be do they wish to expand their portfolio to manufacturing and development. Its not as crazy as it sounds in that they would be playing into a midrange monopoly [10:13] schestowitz[TR2] : [10:13] -TechBytesBot/#techbytes- ( status 403 @ https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1trzw8Rw ) [10:14] schestowitz[TR2] " You have to wonder what all the BS about IBM AI Ethics is all about, especially since AK and his executives don't believe in ethics when it comes to layoffs of IBM US employees : [10:14] schestowitz[TR2] https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ibm-recommits-rome-call-ai-120000406.html [10:14] schestowitz[TR2] Oh wait, maybe the Vatican is considering buying a new Z series mainframe to count their change in the collection boxes, so that is what is driving this announcement.
