DE: 1724
FR: 1139
IT: 533
ES: 514
NL: 3XX (number not visible on illustration)
UK: 310
BE: 301
[+ each of the other countries having below 200, e.g., GR: 186]

It stands out that, e.g., nationals of IT, ES and NL have to [04:12] schestowitz master all three official EPO languages as foreign languages, which they do impressively well.

Don't you have the same language learning opportunities as anyone in Continental Europe? E.g., for FR and DE, there exist ample freely available online resources (not as many as for EN, but still a lot). It will help you make patent monopoly work faster, more consistent, and more complete, especially when dealing with unfamiliar or infrequent technical areas or jurisdictions. There is also a big difference between the public Hey Hi (AI) tools and the patent-specific tools being developed. The millions of existing patent monopoly applications that have been written, [04:14] schestowitz searched, prosecuted, and examined in systematic ways by past professionals form a very good training set.
When I managed a small firm, we were happy with a mix of qualifications and experience. We also wanted intellectually curious (and social) attorneys who were willing to learn about new areas - e.g. for many clients, inventions moved swiftly from hardware to software (statistics), so attorneys also needed to do this.
Some [04:14] schestowitz deep specialisation is good, but it must be in new fields with a lot of inventive activity, which are usually those studied by the newest and youngest graduates. Yep you read that right, weve decided to throw the lever and go Wayland by default! The three remaining showstoppers are in the process of being fixed and we expect them to be done sooncertainly before the final release of Plasma 6. So we wanted to make the change early to gather as much feedback as possible.

But thats not all, of course. This was another big week! Read on to see the rest: [...]

My Olympus XA-2 is my default walking-around camera. I love it, but its age is showing and Im envious of the crisp photos that people get out of later-era SLR film cameras. Thinking about getting a lightweight viewfinder for my monstrous Nikon F, or buying something like a Nikon FM2. Theres a paradox to this gear, though, and I dont want to delude myself into thinking that Id use a slightly [10:06] schestowitz different camera more when really the issue is that Im not shooting many photos regardless.

Here the author is saying that there is no way of changing the copyright monopoly system to deal with emergent works, i.e. it is 'impossible' to come up with a copyright monopoly system for emergent works. However you cannot come to this conclusion until you have explored every perspective and this article and the North Carolina journal article have no economic analysi [11:42] schestowitz s of copyright. Copyright is a monopoly which has an economic function, and that perhaps is what should be focused on if one is looking to fix the issue of emergent works. Who deserves to incentivised and rewarded for AI's work in a way that benefits the economic system as a whole? That is a very complex analysis, but clearly worth doing given the looming problems of coping with Hey Hi (AI) which is now at a high level of capability w [11:42] schestowitz hen it comes to artistic expression. Sorry to be a little critical, but policy analysis is hard work that needs to be done properly if it is going to come up with good solutions." ● Nov 12 [14:37] schestowitz http://ipkitten.blogspot.com/2023/11/should-you-need-at-least-4-year.html?showComment=1699648831811#c2747349261291193750 [14:37] schestowitz "To the contrary, the language requirements have been recently reduced.
