This electoral round is of particular importance, more so than previous ones. By supporting the SUEPO team you can strengthen the mandate of the representatives who have been leading the defence against the erosion of our employment conditions, through the ongoing industrial act [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] ions and legal challenges. And with 31 candidates for the 16 spots on the staff committee, your vote can make a decisive difference for our union. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Over the years, SUEPO has consistently been at the forefront of defending staff rights. This has only been made possible thanks to the steadfast support of its members, whose contributions have enabled the financing of numerous legal actions for the benefit of all staff. Crucially, this work depends on Staff Representatives backed by SUEPO, the only independent, financially robust staff union, occupying key positions, ensuring time [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] ly access to information and effective legal oversight. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Recent opinions of the Appeals Committee have underscored that only members of the General Consultative Committee (GCC) are in a position to challenge procedural shortcomings in major reforms. It is therefore essential to secure a strong presence of SUEPO representatives within the Staff Committee and therefore the GCC. This is indispensable to continue safeguarding staff rights and to ensure that the many ongoing legal cases* are [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] not jeopardised. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] To support the continuation of our strong actions, we invite you to cast all 16 of your votes for the candidates of the SUEPO team. Using your full allocation of votes is of paramount importance to maximise the overall voting average and to ensure the strongest possible representation. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] We also encourage you to spread the message by inviting your colleagues to take part in the election and to support the SUEPO team. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Kind regards, [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Your SUEPO TH committee [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] 16-18 June: Staff Committee elections cast all your 16 votes for the SUEPO team. The principal case was successful at the Appeals Committee stage and is now being defended before the Tribunal. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Pension Contribution Rate Increases [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Three cases (2018, 2020, and 2026) are currently ongoing. The 2018 and 2020 cases were successful at the Appeals Committee stage and are now pending before the Tribunal. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Education & Childcare Allowance [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Approx. 30 distinct aspects of the reform are currently under challenge. Several significant outcomes have already been achieved: examination and administration fees are now fully reimbursed following successful cases, and specific issues concerning siblings and children with special needs have been resolved. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Salary Savings Plan (SSP) How the switch to BlackRock was managed [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] This case is currently under consideration at the Appeals Committee stage. A favourable outcome would benefit all SSP participants for losses incurred during the switch and leading to better governance in the future. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Fundamental rights [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Right to strike, mass email and freedom of associations were only reinstated at the Office thanks to several SUEPO legal cases won before the Tribunal. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Recognition of Previous Professional Experience [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Several cases are ongoing, and a number of favourable decisions have already been obtained, including recognition of PhD and postdoctoral experience. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Annual Rewards [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Around 45 cases have been successful before the Appeals Committee, resulting in positive outcomes such as step increases or promotions. Notably, the A1 to A2 promotion case was won, establishing the right to earlier career advancement for the colleagues concerned. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Harassment and Discrimination [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Several complex cases are currently being pursued. These cases require significant resources and exemplify the Unions commitment to solidarity and the protection of staff dignity. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Non-Conversion of Fixed-Term Contracts into Permanent Contracts [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] A number of cases are ongoing in this area. The situation is being closely monitored, with continued legal support provided where appropriate. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Supporting improved rights for working parents [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Eligibility to parenthood leave (formally maternity leave) have been extended to additional parents thanks to legal cases supported by SUEPO, and a policy of breastfeeding leave has recently been introduced following a campaign. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] In the interest of transparency, and to facilitate a more constructive and expeditious discussion on this important matter, we have decided to make our correspondence with the Office publicly available. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] On 1 April 2026, we addressed an open letter to the President of the Office, highlighting the potential impact of the proposed SAP reform on the Education and Childcare Allowance, within the broader context of the ongoing reform. In that letter, we raised a number of legal, financial, and social concerns, and called for clarity and meaningful engagement on these issues. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] The Administration responded by email on 18 May 2026. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] We submitted our reply on 20 May 2026, addressing the points raised by the Administration and reiterating our concerns, in particular with regard to the potential adverse effects on staff and their families. The full email exchange can be found here. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] To date, however, we have received no further response. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] We will continue to closely monitor the situation and keep you informed of any developments. In the meantime, we remain fully committed to ensuring that staff interests are effectively represented and that any reform measures are properly assessed in light of their broader consequences. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Furthermore, the LSCTH informs of the SUEPO industrial action plan which includes strikes any day of the week, work-to-rule and strike anchor days on Monday 8 and Friday 26 June. All staff may register for strike via q/myfips (like registering annual leave but choose strike instead). More information on how you can support the industrial actions here. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Over the past two months, this choice of action plan has demonstrated its effectiveness: participation of staff has significantly reduced production, which is now almost 12K products behind plan, and contributed to a noticeable decrease in granted patents (-23% compared to plan for the first 4 months of 2026). The message sent by staff has therefore been both visible and measurable. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] The Administration has taken no action to address the concerns repeatedly expressed by staff and their representatives. The Member States have also shown limited willingness to address the shortcomings of the proposed SAP in a meaningful manner, despite improvement in the rhetoric used by some large delegations. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] In view of this situation and the upcoming AC meeting starting on the 30th June, the SUEPO The Hague Committee considers that maintaining pressure remains necessary. The proposal put forward by SUEPO to both the management and to the delegates in May, put simply, is that there must be an end to the cuts. For our concerns to be heard, a continuation of the industrial actions is necessary. [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] We therefore invite all members to attend a third Extraordinary General Meeting of SUEPO The Hague on 11 June 2026 at 11.00 hrs, during which we will submit for decision by the SUEPO members present the continuation of the current action plan until the end of 2026, namely: [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Continuation of rolling strikes, allowing participation in strike action on any working day; [16:38] schestowitz[TR2] Continuation of work-to-rule actions across the Office. [17:44] schestowitz[TR2] You need to be on the CIO RA list since yesterday. Are you working to get the NEW Badge coming out specially created by Nickel MotherT for IBM LinkedIn members ? "Laid Off From IBM. Awarded by Arvind Krispy Kreme" [17:44] schestowitz[TR2] " [17:53] schestowitz[TR2] IBM is the only company that puffs up pathetic, incompetent, unethical ,corrupt, worthless leaders like Arvind and his Pipmunks and designates them as leaders of technology. If IBM was still a leader of technology as it was in the 1980s and 1990s, and leading at the forefront of technology, I would stand corrected for what I wrote. But IBM has become nothing more than a center for financial engineering and marketing lies. It is a s [17:53] schestowitz[TR2] ad fact that more and more managers and leaders at IBM behave unethically and yet they sign off on the IBM Business Conduct Guidelines every year. Why ? This dishonest behavior has come from India and permeates the global organization like a stench from Arvind's toilet. The IBM Legal Department doesn't do anything but their Senior VP collects a bundle of money for sitting around. [17:53] schestowitz[TR2] So to have a pathetic loser like you from IBM India HR telling me that I should limit my comments on the behavior of corrupt VPs and managers who lay off thousands of US employees means that you care more for appearances of how IBM is perceived than the mistreatment done to it's employees. You are obsolete heartless loser and will not be re-inventing yourself at the dump called IBM, once you get your termination notice. BTW, How is [17:53] schestowitz[TR2] it that Arvind is over the age of 64 and still in the CEO's chair, eh ? Whose Azz is he kissing these days to stay there ?
