schestowitz[TR2]                                        <p>In a bold and unexpected move, OpenWrt announced a major change: the venerable OPKG package manager has been replaced by APK. schestowitz[TR2]Question: if an AI does the same job several times worse than a human being, have you really replaced that job? Or is this just a cut without concerns about consequences?Nov 18 22:01
schestowitz[TR2]On most AI projects they never measure quality or compare it to the people replaced.Nov 18 22:01
schestowitz[TR2]This is like saying they a 1st class seat on Delta has been replaced with a "basic minus" seat on bankrupt Spirit airlines. Are they really fungible? Would you be fine paying first class prices for a seat on Spirit? That is how we "replace" jobs with AI today. Marginal quality at best; vastly worse than an experienced human; powered by a lack of valid metrics - more BS "OKRs" that measure nothing meaningful.Nov 18 22:01
