[07:03] schestowitz[TR] SUEPO is the trade union and its role is complementary with the one of staff committees. Since 1979, SUEPO has been fighting to defend and improve working conditions at the EPO. These are our main goals: [07:03] schestowitz[TR] - Protecting and defending your rights [07:03] schestowitz[TR] - Improve working conditions and work-life balance [07:03] schestowitz[TR] - A better and fairer career system [07:03] schestowitz[TR] - Promoting a sense of community and support [07:03] schestowitz[TR] - Fostering a culture of respect, collegiality, and dignity [07:03] schestowitz[TR] - More job security for colleagues on contracts [07:03] schestowitz[TR] By supporting the candidacy of SUEPO members in the Election of Staff Representatives you strengthen the position of the Staff Representation. [07:03] schestowitz[TR] This flyer presents the SUEPO candidates for the Staff Committee Elections 2023. Please use your right to vote !" [07:04] schestowitz[TR] " [07:04] schestowitz[TR] The SUEPO team members have shown their mutual respect for one another and willingness to work together as a diverse and united front to get the very best for staff. This is always key to a properly functioning committee, and even more so in the coming months. [07:04] schestowitz[TR] The EPO is going to carry out a new financial study in 2023/2024, and considering the outcome of previous editions and the tone of the administrations announcement, it seems likely that we will soon be facing yet more proposals for cuts to our employment conditions. [07:04] schestowitz[TR] The SUEPO team of candidates has experience of sitting at the table with management to discuss all the topics related to employment conditions: from health to contracts, from salary indexation and pensions to the education allowance. In many cases this has borne fruit without following the legal path. [07:04] schestowitz[TR] When litigation does turn out to be necessary, our team has the support of our union committee, which can assist the elected staff committee with access to competent, trusted legal experts. [07:04] schestowitz[TR] This cooperation has proven fruitful in the past, notably with the recent ILOAT judgements in favour of SUEPO concerning the fundamental rights to strike, to freedom of association and freedom of communication. [07:04] schestowitz[TR] " [07:05] schestowitz[TR] "Dear members, dear colleagues, [07:05] schestowitz[TR] Please consider coming to the SUEPO office (Veraartlaan, 8 in Rijswijk, opposite the EPO) to connect together and subsequently discuss the following webinars which are being organized by unions affiliated to ours: [07:05] schestowitz[TR] [07:05] schestowitz[TR] Thursday 22 June, 15:00, zoom webinar hosted by EPSU (European Public Service Union) with Prof. Juliet Schor, economist and sociologist. [07:05] schestowitz[TR] Topic: the need for fundamental change to our economic model and the role public services and working time reduction must play to achieve climate justice. [07:05] schestowitz[TR] " [07:06] schestowitz[TR] "Dear SUEPO members, dear colleagues, [07:06] schestowitz[TR] The elections of the staff committee The Hague will take place from Monday 19th June 2023, 08.00am to Wednesday 21st June 2023, 12.00 midday via your EPO email. Please vote in this election to demonstrate your desire to be represented in management decisions that affect us all. [07:06] schestowitz[TR] The SUEPO committee endorses the candidates of the SUEPO Team to: [07:06] schestowitz[TR] Protect and defend your rights [07:06] schestowitz[TR] Foster a culture of respect, collegiality, and dignity [07:06] schestowitz[TR] Improve working conditions and work-life balance [07:06] schestowitz[TR] Reduce working/production pressure [07:06] schestowitz[TR] Advocate for a better and fairer career system [07:06] schestowitz[TR] Create more job security for colleagues on contracts [07:06] schestowitz[TR] Address understaffing in all job categories and job groups [07:06] schestowitz[TR] We encourage our members to cast all 16 votes for the SUEPO team this will give them a strong mandate to represent your interests and defend your rights in a united staff committee. Using all of your 16 votes means that each elected member will be more representative of the electorate, giving the staff committees more weight in front of management. [07:06] schestowitz[TR] " [07:07] schestowitz[TR] "Many of you are now requesting the reimbursement of the school fees via the Education Allowance Portal, and regrettably, many of you will again be faced with arbitrary deductions reducing the reimbursed amount of the tuition fees by the Office. We believe that such deductions do not comply with the provisions of Circ 411 Article 3; which recites: [07:07] schestowitz[TR] [07:07] schestowitz[TR] For the purpose of direct education costs, the following expenses are reimbursable: [07:07] schestowitz[TR] (a) fees that are required to enrol a child in an educational institution. Such fees cover registration, admission, application or entrance fees [07:07] schestowitz[TR] (b) tuition fees for full-time attendance which are invoiced by the educational institution and certified by the educational institution as being necessary for attendance [07:07] schestowitz[TR] (c) capital fees or development fees levied by educational institutions to fund the construction, refurbishment and maintenance of buildings. Such fees may be levied at the time of first enrolment, every year or as needed. [07:07] schestowitz[TR] [07:07] schestowitz[TR] In our opinion, Article 3 (a) and (b) does not leave any ambiguity as to what should be reimbursed by the Office." ● Jun 20 [13:52] *parsifal (~parsifal@aahfbjmj4hann.irc) has joined #techbytes ● Jun 20 [14:02] *psydroid2 (~psydroid@u8ftxtfux23wk.irc) has joined #techbytes [14:21] *parsifal has quit (Ping timeout: 2m30s) [14:29] *parsifal (~parsifal@aahfbjmj4hann.irc) has joined #techbytes ● Jun 20 [15:06] *u-amarsh04 has quit (Quit: Konversation terminated!)
