Its also safe to assume a 90% increase in system Z sales year over year for the first full quarter of system Z17 sales. Net net 11 bucks per share are within reach given current course and speed. NOTE tariffs and their retaliation could easily upset the apple cart [03:49] schestowitz[TR3] 6 hours ago by Anonymous [03:49] schestowitz[TR3] | no reactions | Reply [03:49] schestowitz[TR3] Post ID: @s2+1jy1fmgxg [03:49] schestowitz[TR3] 0 [03:49] schestowitz[TR3] @qm+1jy1fmgxg Valid point about trailing vs forward earnings. But not sure I believe we'll see FY2025 EPS of $11. Like the 5-6% Revenue growth guidance, it's assuming a monster 2H due to Z17. We'll see. All this stuff seems like a repeat of Roadmap 2015 to me - people making assumptions in a spreadsheet that can't translate to reality and we know how that ended. I believe it shows just how effective IBMs offshore (eg cost take out has been). When you replace 100k head count worth of cost for 33% of it, the 66% of cost that you saved drops right to the bottom line, and gives you a one time crazy PE. If you look at forward earnings PE, its still high, BUT a much more reasonable 25. Given that the market average for forward [03:49] schestowitz[TR3] PEs of the s&p are running in the 19-20 range, IBM is still high, but 80% SW margins will do that. Comparing IBMs forward 25 PE with other primarily SW companys PEs that are running in the low 30s range, makes IBM a little more reasonable. NET NET Wall Street currently is pricing in IBMs cost take out and the crazy PE number is reflecting that [03:49] schestowitz[TR3] " [03:50] schestowitz[TR3] https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1jy7wbjp4 [03:50] -TechBytesBot/#techbytes- ( status 403 @ https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1jy7wbjp4 ) [03:50] schestowitz[TR3] " I work with teams that consist of multiple associate partners and typically a couple of partners, one or two of these teams every single month, and for the last several months I am aware of just one senior partner who has left IBM, and possibly as a retirement as he was around 60 years old. Associate Partners, Partners, and Senior Partners in Consulting have been hit very hard by RA this year. Sadly seems like ones who really sell and deliver to clients hit the hardest. Meanwhile the bean counter administrator ones remain. [11:39] schestowitz[TR3][11:39] schestowitz[TR3]For those of you who havent seen it, I maintain a Retro Corner. It started as a one-pager written by hand in HTML3 to list some old parts, but has become a full site itself. It broadly uses the same theme I had on my first GeoCities site I wrote in primary school, and later moved to Tripod. Its very silly.

Meanwhile, the metadata module has been overhauled, offering full customization for supported EXIF/IPTC tags via Exiv2.
