Parrot OS 6.2 Introduces New Docker Container Launcher
    [09:54] schestowitz
    [09:54] schestowitz

One of the most exciting new features is Rocket, a tool launcher written entirely in Python using PyQt6 for the GUI. It simplifies running Docker containers, particularly for security tools available in the Parrot repository and beyond.

    [09:54] schestowitz

In other words, instead of manually downloading and running them via no-so-user-friendly Docker commands, users can now select the desired one directly from Rockets UI, which handles the rest.

Kali Linux Phases Out Obsolete 32-bit Architecture
    [09:54] schestowitz
    [09:54] schestowitz

The era of the i386 architecture is coming to an end in Kali Linux. Starting this week, support for i386 is being significantly reduced: the i386 kernel and images are being discontinued. This means no more new releases or images for the 32-bit architecture.

    [09:54] schestowitz

Before you get worried, let us reassure youeverything is perfectly fine and this change was completely expected. In fact, Kali was one of the last holdouts that supported the old x86 architecture. To make things clearer, lets shed some light on the terminology: [...]

They have been and will continue to be partnered off. IBM went all in on scaleout Power replacing Intel (especially for LINUX), and its been a disaster as the ISVs said no thank you and embraced Intel solutions instead Scale out margins run at 1/3 of what enterprise margins run at, and this isnt sustainable, when you consider IBMs high cost over [16:32] schestowitz head. The CFOs mention on the 3rd q call of a redhat/Dell Linux partnership only reinforces how IBM is viewing scaleout HW. It doesnt fit into the enterprise only go forward strategy, and we have seen how IBM deals with products that dont fit (Palo Alto). Yep they sell them off and partner with them instead. For example, you have claims that have been amended during prosecution to address Art 84 issues and the resulting claim set is one which, while looking very different to the claims as filed, are accepted by the examining division to meet the requirements of Art 123(2). The only way to make the description conform to the allowable claims is [16:44] schestowitz to largely rewrite the entire description because the language of the claims, whilst now clear, is not verbatim found in the description. This scenario is common for applications that originated in Japan, China, and so on. You would be a brave attorney indeed to do a full rewrite instead of pushing back against the requirement to conform the description.

Another example: your application is an n-th generational divisional. [16:44] schestowitz You have been farming this family for many years and have just about managed to convince the examining division that your current claim set, based on a throw-away remark at the end of the description as filed is a standalone invention vs the parent, grand-parent, great-grand-parent and so on. Your application has just been allowed but the invention is so specific in its scope that the overall structure and way the description was origin [16:44] schestowitz ally written means that most paragraphs probably include some things that are within the scope and some things that aren't. There is no way to disentangle these things without a full rewrite. This is a scenario that is common for families that applicants want to keep alive for as long as possible. Again, you would be a brave attorney if you are going to advise your clients to go for a rewrite rather than pushing back against conforming. [16:44] schestowitz

No doubt you can envisage plenty of other of these kinds of real world style examples. In fact there are probably many more of these kinds of examples than examples where conformance is an easy task.

What is your approach in these kinds of cases? Do you go for the full description rewrite or do you half-heartedly change a word or two in the summary and proudly declare that your description now conforms when it do [16:44] schestowitz es not (on a strict interpretation of the T-decisions that support description amendments).

I suspect if the boards actually knew how many granted descriptions don't comply with conformance and how much extra work the examiners would have to take on to enforce compliance, they would quietly update the guidelines and find an interpretation of the EPC that would allow them to drop the description amendments requirement." ● Oct 25 [18:12] *jacobk (~quassel@h35w7rsxw8uuq.irc) has joined #techbytes [18:13] *acer-box has quit (Quit: Konversation term) [18:13] *acer-box____ has quit (Quit: Konversation term) [18:13] *acer-box (~acer-box@p9wpy7xxaddvc.irc) has joined #techbytes [18:13] *acer-box____ (~acer-box@freenode/user/schestowitz) has joined #techbytes [18:15] *jacobk has quit (Ping timeout: 2m30s) [18:19] *acer-box has quit (Quit: Konversation term) [18:19] *acer-box____ has quit (Quit: Konversation term) [18:19] *acer-box (~acer-box@p9wpy7xxaddvc.irc) has joined #techbytes [18:19] *acer-box____ (~acer-box@freenode/user/schestowitz) has joined #techbytes [18:22] *jacobk (~quassel@utrnztcgks7fw.irc) has joined #techbytes [18:37] *jacobk has quit (Ping timeout: 2m30s) [18:47] *psydruid (~psydruid@jevhxkzmtrbww.irc) has left #techbytes [18:49] *psydruid (~psydruid@jevhxkzmtrbww.irc) has joined #techbytes [18:53] *jacobk (~quassel@2j2enej2k6pt4.irc) has joined #techbytes ● Oct 25 [19:04] *jacobk has quit (Ping timeout: 2m30s) ● Oct 25 [21:11] *jacobk (~quassel@6wygwq2t5e2hw.irc) has joined #techbytes [21:28] *jacobk has quit (Ping timeout: 2m30s) ● Oct 25 [22:41] *jacobk (~quassel@rr2rh58ht72yy.irc) has joined #techbytes [22:48] *psydroid2 has quit (Quit: KVIrc 5.0.0 Aria http://www.kvirc.net/)
