Working for IBM should a last resort solution for young people ( new grads ...). If a young person is duped into working for IBM US, remember that IBM can spend the same amount in India and get 5 workers at least. [03:34] schestowitz[TR2] In some slum in India, or some Third World country in Sub-Saharan Africa ? [03:34] schestowitz[TR2] The IBM name has no value in most big companies unless you have key skills as in mainframes. One can find cloud folks - a dime for a dozen - without even searching hard on the Internet. At the end of the day you get a job based on your achievements, not IBM's name. [03:34] schestowitz[TR2] But the comment posted is great for telling others that someone got paid by IBM (or IBM HR) to post such a ridiculous comment. It also warns others to stay away from employment at this awful IBM company. After all, laying off 9000 people in the USA and transferring their jobs to India is not something that anyone should take lightly. Unless you are Alvind or his Pipmunks. EU OS aims to free the European public sector desktop
    [13:38] schestowitz[TR2]
    [13:38] schestowitz[TR2]

The proposed base OS Fedora is what gave us pause, though. In these times of heightened tensions between the US and well, frankly, everyone, including large parts of the US itself why pick the Red Hat-backed Fedora, an American distro, rather than one of European origin such as openSUSE? To be fair, the immutable Fedora KDE version, Kinoite, is among the most mature [13:38] schestowitz[TR2] immutable distros out there. The Register first looked at it over four years ago now.

Among the added features in this release are more work to allow future drivers to be written in Rust which may re-ignite recent arguments among kernel coders support for Qualcomms latest and greatest mobile chip the Snapdragon 8 Elite, a fix for the GhostWrite vulnerability present in some of Alibaba subsidiary T-Head Semiconductor's RISC-V processors, and completion of work on [13:38] schestowitz[TR2] the NTSYNC driver that will mean the WINE emulator improves its ability to run Windows code (especially games) on Linux.
