Focusing on the walking part, it would be nice to see a quantum computing design that could actually be built outside of a specially-equipped laboratory, and that could actually solve even one type of problem in a consistent, accurate and reliable manner. [00:17] schestowitz[TR2] Right now, quantum computers don't satisfy any of those conditions. They require custom, or at the very least, single-source components and materials. They require cooling to superconductive conditions. And as far as I know, there is no problem in any space for which a real life quantum computing solution actually exists. [00:17] schestowitz[TR2] In theory, quantum computers can quickly factor large integers. Great...how about showing me a quantum computer that actually does it? Give me a keyboard and a screen, and let me type in a large number for Watson Q (or whatever the he-l IBM calls it) to factor, and display an answer. Where is it? Skip the keyboard and screen, and just put up a PC in front of it with a web server so the public can see it work. If IBM has anything, t [00:17] schestowitz[TR2] hey should be able to show it off in this manner. Can they do it in 1 year? 10 years? 20? I dunno, maybe they can. Not from IBM not from anyone. 20-30 years out it's harder to say but even for that there are enormous obstacles that have to be overcome around noise and error correction. Substantial reduction of printer capacity by over 80% in late 2023, discontinuation of central printing and storage of (new) paper dossiers and absence of a file store in the new Berlin sub-office (C1). [15:26] schestowitz[TR2] All three actions occurred within half a year, the second and third essentially without warning or major explanations beyond the obvious tip that files may be printed by the examiners themselves. [15:26] schestowitz[TR2] The next far-reaching measure would obviously be the discontinuation of the Central File Store (CFS). The following discussion points appear vital: [15:26] schestowitz[TR2] How can colleagues with different working styles and/or medical conditions be accommodated? [15:26] schestowitz[TR2] How can quality within the meaning of legal certainty be assured for granted patents if annotations on paper are lost? After all, a sizable fraction of CFS-applications and patents in opposition are older than 10 years, pre-dating Ansera et al.
