How many projects have failed and then just quietly disappeared? 7nm was a catastrophic dumpster fire that contributed to ~1,000 layoffs at GlobalFoundries, yet somehow people here in IBM Albany received huge awards, even CEO Awards, for it. Now we purchase the tech from Samsung. Who developed completely on their own with no help from IBM research or work.

At least in Albany, there were so many people who honestly deserved to be held accountable for repeatedly missing milestones and outright failing, yet instead of facing consequences, they were simply moved around. Meanwhile, their subordinates were left to pay the priceworking their as--s off trying to somehow deliver on the unrealistic goals set by second-line leadership.

I replied truthfully which is I simply get positive feelings from having greater knowledge of my environment and the things that are going on, even if it changes nothing else. Between Europe and North America, 600k people have been eliminated over time. Remember that IBM basically a private equity firm that strip mines the companies it acquires and then lays off most of the staff.

[17:26]	schestowitz[TR2]	@Af. You are stretching the truth by a lot. IBM usually hires 1 for 1. Eg if they RA a person in NA, they only hire 1 person in India. Why do I say that? Because hiring in India is a cost savings exercise and total burden wages in India are approx 1/4 - 1/3 of what they are in NA. The same goes for Northern Europe.
[17:26]	schestowitz[TR2]	So for every 100 dollars shed by IBM for RAs IBM has to add 33 bucks to hire in India. The difference 66 dollars drops to the bottom line as cost reduction.
[17:26]	schestowitz[TR2]	If we used your logic for every 100 dollars shed by RAs IBM would add 6 employees x 33 dollars each = 198 dollars in cost, or an increase of 98 bucks. I dont see the CFO signing off on that.

Using your logic that would say IBM RAed 23k worth of NA and Northern European employees if all were hired via an RA replacement. Does anyone really think IBMs RAs are limited to 23k? I think
