When 94-96% of your members can only lose to a challenge from their right or left in a party primary, they just start saying whatever appeases the voters who show up in the primary. Sometimes they don't even have to do that because the party makes sure there is no other candidate.
[11:31]	DaemonFC	Control of the House only hangs in the balance of at most 6% of its seats this decade. The worst ever.
[11:33]	DaemonFC	Wisconsin has an interesting redistricting process. At first glance, it's a Republican gerrymander, but when you look at it, there's not much you could do under state lsw to make it any different. The law requires not splitting counties and compactness whenever possible.
[11:35]	DaemonFC	To prevent a 2/3rds+ majority Republican legislature from writing their preferred maps, Gov. Evers vetoed it, which under state law, kicks it to the 4-3 Republican Supreme Court. At first glance this is terrible, but one of the Republicans is really swingy, and he's made it clear that he's more likely to accept the Evers proposal or something like it. The Republicans went for broke at the state level and tried to pick off a few more (urban) 
[11:35]	DaemonFC	Democrats by throwing in Republican suburbs. By kicking it to a court that has said it will apply the law, Evers has prevented things from getting more gerrymandered in favor of the Republicans, but without improving it very much.

[11:36]	DaemonFC	He waited to veto it until the legislature was out of session, meaning they couldn't act on it and it forced them to meet a deadline which kicked it out to the court, and prevented a veto override.

[11:45]	DaemonFC	The only minor party who is on the ballot for president in every state is the Libertarian Party.
[11:45]	DaemonFC	The Greens are usually only in 36 states, and even in the rare case where if they won all of those states, they could get over 270 EVs, it's in states where they can't even get 0.1% of the vote because if they find out you're even a Democrat, they'll run you off the road and lynch you.
