[00:39]	IsambardPrince	Some cars don't need a check valve in the oil filter. They're built into the car itself at some point along the way.

[00:39]	IsambardPrince	The point of the check valve is to keep the filter and the system past the filter full of oil so it doesn't drain back into the pan.
[00:40]	IsambardPrince	Dry starts are seriously bad news for the engine.
[00:40]	IsambardPrince	The longer it runs without oil the worse off you are.
[00:40]	IsambardPrince	Even a few extra seconds every time you start the car is not acceptable.
[00:43]	IsambardPrince	GM had a lot of engine failures in their pickup trucks over the past few years.
[00:44]	IsambardPrince	They designed the engines poorly, and the "solution" was to move from 0w20 oil to 5w40.
