She goes, "Oh, well, we don't want to be liable if you wreck your car or something and the measurement wasn't right, also we won't know the PD until you buy your glasses from us.". I said, "That machine that was blowing air in my eyes was what gave you the PD in case I bought glasses here, so you have it already.".

[04:42]	DaemonFC[m]	The employee vision insurance isn't that great, turns out. The eyeglasses are so expensive that you're still crazy if you buy them there.
[04:42]	DaemonFC[m]	Charge 4 times more and give 25% of that back to you as a "benefit" that you have to pay premiums for.
[04:43]	DaemonFC[m]	"You don't have to be crazy to sign up for our 'benefits' but it sure helps."
[04:44]	DaemonFC[m]	Basically the only thing you're really getting if you buy it is an annual basic exam that you pre-paid for.
[04:44]	DaemonFC[m]	They make money because a lot of employees pay the premiums and then forget to ever get their eyes examined at all.

[04:45]	DaemonFC[m]	When you self-pay you can just go every 2-3 years and more often than not your current prescription only requires a slight tweaking even at that.
