[01:49]	DaemonFC	There is simply no denying that even a lot of really badly neglected Japanese stuff from the 80s and 90s just kept going long long long after an American car you did that to would have had the transmission lose gears or the engine blow a hole in itself.

[01:51]	DaemonFC	My aunt (the one that was married to Keith) got a 1985 Honda Prelude, didn't do much to maintain it, and it was still (barely) working in 2012.

[06:03]	DaemonFC	If you're not going to replace it every year, at least pull it out and dump the garbage out and vacuum it, but you need to replace the whole thing eventually or you'll start having weird smells.
[06:04]	DaemonFC	That's why people get into an old car and flip the air conditioner or heat on and it smells horrible or the windshield starts fogging up on the inside.

[06:05]	DaemonFC	The newer ones, it's just another thing you have to do to the car every year. And if you don't, the fan can eventually blow up and cost several hundred bucks.

The reusable ones have these oils you're supposed to clean them with, only that can get where it shouldn't be and screw up a sensor or something, and cause transmission damage.

[06:16]	DaemonFC	Whatever dirt makes it past the engine air filter, gets into the oil and starts cycling around. The oil filter will catch most of it....eventually, but there's always more coming in and the oil filter can only filter and trap so much.
[06:18]	DaemonFC	There are so many restrictions in the exhaust due to government mandated nonsense, like pollution control and noise, that letting in more air at the intake won't matter because it's not where the bottleneck is.
[06:18]	DaemonFC	It's like saying you'll make the bottom of a soda bottle a lot wider but you'll leave the neck of the bottle alone. How is more Coke going to get through the neck of the Coke bottle? It won't.

[06:20]	DaemonFC	If you're in a non-emissions state and want to change your entire exhaust out and delete the muffler and catalytic converter (illegally, because nobody cares) and run aftermarket exhaust leads, then letting more air in would work, to an extent. And that's when a cold air intake becomes a great idea.

[09:15]	DaemonFC	Literally the only reason to go down there is to say things like "I went to the orientation that week." or "I went to the what are your skills meeting!" when they ask what you've been doing that week for the voucher. The resume you put on their site goes nowhere. But working on it counts.

[09:16]	DaemonFC	It's important to do at least one thing on the activities that involves going to the unemployment office or putting a resume on Indeed or something each week.
[09:17]	DaemonFC	Because if you actually start looking, then you apply everywhere in town, nobody calls, and then you can't just say "Well, I didn't apply anywhere this week because there's nowhere left to apply at!" and so your benefits get cut off.

[09:18]	DaemonFC	Then he was never unemployed again until he retired at 70.

[10:10]	DaemonFC	The additional cashback at supermarkets is basically funded through the annual fee, and the fact that "grocery stores" have higher prices, which means the consumer will put more spend through the card. More spend means more fees from the merchant for AmEx.

[10:11]	DaemonFC	You get hooked because you see the "free money" coming in, and want another hit.

[10:14]	DaemonFC	Most of the reason I applied for the Blue Cash Everyday is if I don't use it much, it doesn't matter.

[10:15]	DaemonFC	If you don't recoup the annual fee, they win. They keep the annual fee value as profit. If you spend a lot of money trying to beat the annual fee, they still win because you're further incentivized to spend it to "beat the fee" and they get fees from the merchant on money you may not have spent.
