[21:12] Isambard_Prince That was 2008 and I understand they're doing some sort of kernel module that comes with Linux now, but the userspace is still proprietary and I'm sure that it's still managing to cause issues. [21:13] Isambard_Prince With AMD, the proprietary driver is only desirable if you want certified OpenGL and Vulkan compliance, but that driver often performs worse and in practice the Free version is compliant enough. Lots of test cases for compliance, things get fixed. So I've never found a reason why I should install the proprietary one. [21:14] Isambard_Prince If you have some particular application that needs the proprietary driver for certification reasons, and it does something weird with Free drivers, you should be filing a bug report against the Free drivers stating why it fails.
