XRevan86schestowitz: I think that you didn't (past tense) have innodb_file_per_table enabled, but then upgrade to 5.5Oct 26 15:35
XRevan86and some tables were created after that, but most are olderOct 26 15:36
schestowitzI suppose this is possibleOct 26 15:36

XRevan86So the biggest dump is in ibdata1, but some avoided that prisonOct 26 15:36
schestowitzwe moved to mariadb somewhere along the wayOct 26 15:36
XRevan86schestowitz: Which version?Oct 26 15:37
XRevan86schestowitz: Or more specific: is it lower than MariaDB 10.1.32Oct 26 15:39
schestowitz mysql -VOct 26 15:40
schestowitzmysql  Ver 15.1 Distrib 5.5.56-MariaDB, for Linux (x86_64) using readline 5.1Oct 26 15:40
XRevan86way older…Oct 26 15:40
XRevan86schestowitz: Well, the way to free up space is to do a mysqldump and then restore it on a fresh installation.Oct 26 15:41
schestowitzyes, I thought thatOct 26 15:42
XRevan86I asked, because MariaDB (and MySQL) has a newer row format, which has been enabled by default since 10.2. But on 10.1.32+ it's possible to just alter the config a bit and make it a default too.Oct 26 15:42
schestowitzi told my friend it was likely full of spurious stuffOct 26 15:42
XRevan86so after restoring you could automatically get the new stuffOct 26 15:42
schestowitzeasier than changing partitions to buy more timeOct 26 15:42
XRevan86schestowitz: It's 100% isOct 26 15:42

XRevan86"I post many links to sites banned by Putin." – Meduza is not banned in Russia (yet).Oct 26 15:57
XRevan86The closest to banning Russia got is Dozhd', which was mobbed out of cable TV.Oct 26 15:58
