[11:51] DaemonFC Retaliation for the Dobbs decision. [11:51] DaemonFC But they don't even talk about Hyde. [11:52] DaemonFC Removing the Hyde Amendment wouldn't force any state to cover abortion, it would merely let them get federal matching funds if they do cover it. [11:52] DaemonFC So if Texas sued, they'd have an almost impossible standard since nobody is forcing them to cover it. [11:53] DaemonFC It would be like their suit claiming they are theoretically harmed by expanded Medicaid because they chose not to expand, but people there pay federal taxes. [11:53] DaemonFC It got thrown out of court for lack of standing. [11:54] DaemonFC Could the Republicans bring back Hyde someday. Technically, yes, but not until there's a new budget bill with it that the president would sign, and it would have to pass both chambers of Congress. [11:54] DaemonFC So not for at least three years. [11:55] DaemonFC That would be another political mess for at least a few Republicans. [11:55] DaemonFC Remember that a few of them claim that they were blindsided by Trump's Supreme Court picks, who they say assured them Roe was settled. [12:00] DaemonFC They've weakened their hold on two to try to take the third, and now they might lose them all. [12:01] DaemonFC The Democrats have tried to aggressively redistrict this cycle to make up for the Republicans controlling more states, and it puts seats at risk that they have now. [12:02] DaemonFC I think Illinois might have been the only aggressive redistricting that's more likely than not to work out well for them. [12:02] DaemonFC They overplayed their hand in New York, a court threw out the maps, and they had "competitive districts" forced on them instead by a college professor who was tasked with redistricting by the court. Russian propaganda always lies: there is no coincidence, it is a deliberate blow to intimidate the population and mass victims."|nitter [23:29] XRevan86 "deliberate" <- Again, I personally don't necessarily claim that. [23:30] XRevan86 But Russia definitely accepted that these things will inevitably happen and decided to just lie through their teeth every time it does happen. [23:30] XRevan86 No responsibility taken whatsoever. [23:31] XRevan86 125th day of the invasion, no responsibility.
