DaemonFC[m]MinceR: My credit score going up 50 points for filing bankruptcy does have a twisted logic to it.May 30 01:39
DaemonFC[m]If you loan money or something to a person who has filed bankruptcy, not only can they not toss you in, but their current creditors can't pursue them and are going away. So it can be a credit positive that someone is going through bankruptcy if you compare it to having $70,000 of bad debt just hanging over them.May 30 01:39
*rianne_ (~rianne@host81-154-174-226.range81-154.btcentralplus.com) has joined #techrightsMay 30 01:47
kingoffrancei wonder if they predict ahead of time "will emerge with clean slate" and it is doing some predictive scenario likelihood, or people who went thru bankruptcy are more likely to pay afterwards, or somethingMay 30 01:48
kingoffrancestatistically, of courseMay 30 01:48
*liberty_box (~liberty@host81-154-174-226.range81-154.btcentralplus.com) has joined #techrightsMay 30 01:49
DaemonFC[m]Well, if you emerge you can't file again for 8 years.May 30 02:25
DaemonFC[m]So people lend money knowing that you can't do it to them.May 30 02:25
DaemonFC[m]It's basically the super weapon that you save during the game for a boss battle.May 30 02:26
DaemonFC[m]Like, you know, you have this thing you can only use one time so you're not going to waste it because you owe one person money.May 30 02:27
kingoffrancelolMay 30 02:27
DaemonFC[m]Then when you get to the end of the level and there's a bunch of aliens and the alien queen and you're like oh shit, you press the button.May 30 02:28
DaemonFC[m]I consider bankruptcy as an investment at this point.May 30 02:28
DaemonFC[m]Put $1,200 in it and $100,000 of debt goes away.May 30 02:28
DaemonFC[m]The credit card people are out there going "We'll settle this for 80% of what you owe.".May 30 02:29
DaemonFC[m]I'm like "Sorry Charlie, much too little too late!".May 30 02:29
DaemonFC[m]Besides, that horrible underwater car loan will be entirely my exes problem and if he runs out of money while he's on unemployment they'll just sue him and garnish his unemployment and then it is "That's it man, we're finished man! Game over, man! Game over!" for him.May 30 02:30
DaemonFC[m]He thinks he has an ace up his sleeve and that they'll just come after me while he hides the car.May 30 02:31
DaemonFC[m]They'll find it eventually and repo it and sue him, long, LONG after this bankruptcy is over.May 30 02:31
DaemonFC[m]So basically he tried to send me to jail and he just ended up wasting $6,000 of his own money keeping a repo off my credit while I file bankruptcy, and then they'll take the car and sue him for like $16,000 plus their legal fees.May 30 02:33
DaemonFC[m]kingoffrance: This is why I told him this last year.May 30 02:33
DaemonFC[m]"Oh, well, if I go to jail, I'm afraid that the only person who will be responsible for that car is you.".May 30 02:33
DaemonFC[m]He stopped cooperating with the state and told the prosecutor that he thought the whole thing was just overblown and he didn't really want me to go to jail.May 30 02:34
DaemonFC[m]Then once I signed a very lenient plea bargain, I skipped the car payments and drove it around for 3 more months and then left it at a Kia dealer several hundred miles away and took the train back to Chicago. Told Kia where it was. They repossessed it.May 30 02:35
DaemonFC[m]Then I told them how to get ahold of John and he left an obscene voicemail telling me how fucking dare I tell them his phone number, address, where he works, his bank, where his retirement money is, etc.May 30 02:36
DaemonFC[m]So he had to go pay thousands to get the car out of repo.May 30 02:36

DaemonFC[m]Part of my plea deal was don't contact John.May 30 02:36
DaemonFC[m]So I couldn't literally tell him to take the car and cram it up his ass.May 30 02:37
DaemonFC[m]But I think he got the message.May 30 02:37
DaemonFC[m]He's getting really sloppy with his payments. He's living check to check and I don't think he's going to make it until 2023 with the car loan.May 30 02:38
DaemonFC[m]I seriously knocked him off his feet financially last year with that and a few other problems I managed to cook up for him, none of which were illegal.May 30 02:38
DaemonFC[m]He wanted the police to get rid of me so that his illegal Mexican boyfriend would have sex with him.May 30 02:39
DaemonFC[m]Now there's a price tag.May 30 02:39
DaemonFC[m]So far all it's costing me really is $1,200 to file bankruptcy and that covers all my living expenses for the last 12 months and my legal bills.May 30 02:39
DaemonFC[m]---May 30 02:40
DaemonFC[m]I always find ways to make sure that if people fuck me over, they walk away with a much worse problem than I have.May 30 02:40
DaemonFC[m]he may qualify for bankruptcy soon because he's probably been laid off from the airport.May 30 02:41
DaemonFC[m]The car payments didn't go late until April 16th. May 30 02:41
DaemonFC[m]The most he can hope for as far as getting away from all of this goes is $13,000 pissed down a rat's nest trying to stick it to me.May 30 02:42
DaemonFC[m]That's if he qualifies for bankruptcy.May 30 02:42
DaemonFC[m]Then they'll take the car back.May 30 02:43
kingoffrancewell, i had someone try to pile me with thousands of debtMay 30 02:43
kingoffrancei sit at a nice zero today, free, with a car, didnt have to file anything, he went to jailMay 30 02:44

DaemonFC[m]They'll just get it from someone else.May 30 02:58
DaemonFC[m]26% interest and you can call bankruptcy a cost of doing business.May 30 02:58

DaemonFC[m]It seems like XWayland is just fucked up as far as reliable touchpad usage goes.May 30 16:33
DaemonFC[m]The solution seems to be either use a web browser with native Wayland support or fall back to X11.May 30 16:33
