Unqualified Charlatan, Without Interest in Real Security (From Aurora Innovation Inc, Previously Google and Red Hat) is Rattling Sabers

As We Shall Show Later This Year, These Militants are Doxing Women, Threatening People (Threats Sent to Their Home Address), and Offering to Sell Crack Cocaine in IRC While Fantasising About Stabbing People

Matthew J Garrett: Former biologist. Actual PhD in genetics. Security at https://aurora.tech, OS security teaching at https://www.ischool.berkeley.edu. Blog: https://mjg59.dreamwidth.org. He/him.

THEY say that when you can't have your way you resort to desperate measures. Given the dire state of Aurora Innovation Inc [1, 2], it's not surprising that pipes keep bursting and Garrett even tries fixing cheap electric kettles (instead of replacing them).

As it turns out, as per this report, Aurora had layoffs this month. At least 3% of the company, or 60 ish people, according to a source. Their losses went up by over 300% last year. "Like close to 400%," the source added, "I believe."

"Now they claim they'll have a couple dozen prototypes on the road by "the end of 2024"."

The puff piece says: "The company also recently announced it would be mass producing autonomous trucks by 2027..."

"I don't believe they have enough money to last that long unless they get some serious funding," the source said.

Later this year we'll show that Garrett is fancying himself as a (new career?) serial sender of threatening E-mail, not just to me but also to my wife. It's so much easier to accuse other people than to introspect and consider one's own behaviour, which includes siccing nutcases (clinically speaking) at perceived "enemies". Garrett's marital partner used to do this to people until a defamation lawsuit came and many witnesses came forth. That too will be covered later this year. It seems like a modus operandi - attacking high-profile people and hope to be associated with their level by virtue of these attacks while actively undermining the real causes and being far too promiscuous, offering oneself sexually to uninterested people.
