Musical Bans
and some of this might be trying to push water uphill, though bans and prosecution have or have almost stamped out various traditions in Europe, America, and elsewhere. Meme warfare, perhaps. Bans could also be signals for "doing something" to the supporters of the one-who-bans, and may translate to a political advantage. The "doing something" does not have to make sense (to an outsider); parallels from biology might be the excessively long feathers of a peacock or some meiotic drive that a third party may view as crazy, but the actions do make sense within the context of those feathers or the "dancing for Mao".

April 25, 2024 - Saint Mark the Evangelist (R)
Thou hast protected me, O God, from the assembly of the malignant, alleluia: from the multitude of the workers of iniquity, alleluia, alleluia.

cerasus
taken aback that cherry blossoms were still there. tree upon tree, bough upon bough. i remember when the slightest raindrop, like a cartoon tear, could rattle them down, clinging to damp pavement. monotone sky saying: oh no, it is not your time yet. sickly sweet perfume; too sweet, like you, someone says. i am but here for a short time and so are all of us. i want to smash that monotone sky into a thousand shards.

Hey, I'm not a talker. okay?
Good day/night, I'm not good with talking, I'm not good with socializing, I'm not good at maintaining friendships. I do not quite know what to do about it anymore.
Should I keep trying? I have been trying to turn around my social life for god knows how long but I don't feel like it's working and since I'm getting olderâ„¢ I wonder if it's really worth it to waste my time to make new connections when I will need to look after myself soon.

Mania: My Journey Thus Far
As I suspected, my first post here was immediately followed by a long period of silence. I tend to overexcite and thus overestimate my activity. In any case, today's article regards a topic very dear to me: rhythm gaming. My love for mania-styled games (presently Etterna and Interlude) has grown in recent months, but before speaking on that I must first relate my history with the rhythm genre itself, and how it affected my life.

Getting Started with Miranda
I've been interested in exploring the Miranda programming language. It's a language influenced Haskell which has been used for programs I use almost daily such as [Pandoc](https://pandoc.org) and [shellcheck](https://www.shellcheck.net/). I've given a quick review of [miranda.org.uk](https://miranda.org.uk) to get a sense of the language but to follow along with the [Miranda: The Craft of Functional Programming](https://www.cs.kent.ac.uk/people/staff/sjt/Miranda_craft/) it is really helpful to have Miranda available on my machine. Today that machine is a Mac Mini, M1 processor, running macOS Sonoma (14.4.x) and the related Xcode C tool chain. I ran into to minor hiccups in compilation and installation. Both easy to overcome but ones I will surely forget in the future. Thus I write myself another blog post.
