Book Report: Dune, Roadside Picnic, and We Are Legion (We Are Bob)
Come on, I had to give Dune a read with how popular it’s gotten lately thanks to the movie adaptations.
I really enjoyed my time with it! It’s set in a pretty interesting universe, and reading the book helped me understand a couple parts in the first movie that went by quickly.
The one thing that brings it slightly down for me is the writing style. It creates amazing imagery at times but at other times I felt it occasionally came at the cost of clarity.
Overall though, it was a fun read and I’m glad I gave it go. I’m even more excited now to see the second movie since I’ve still only seen the first.

Singing the self-loathing blues
I've been having a weird shift in self lately. I think I'm starting to exit the stressed-half-to-death-hustling-three-jobs-panic I've been in for like, I don't know, seven years? I'm starting to have more brain space to think creatively again, have real plans. I'm picking back up old ideas in type theory and it feels easier than it ever was before and
I don't know
it feels weird being like "could things have been this easy all along?"

All I want is to make and art do math
I'm so close to my summer break now and all I want to do over the course of the next three months is write dependently typed programs and make art, maybe both at the same time.
I have so many ideas that I want to push to fruition that I feel like I'm already choking on them all.

coffee, sip, login, type, send, psychosis
Hello. yes I very much so have psychosis. Developed from several years of regular LSD use/abuse. Sucks, in a way, 20 years on it doesn't really matter.
Anyway, the same (kinda nice) blog and dance: make coffee, pour coffee, login (to pubnix via SSH, or Irssi (irc) via command line, or Write.as, Midnight.pub, wherever) have a little sip, prep the mental movements to the paragraph ahead, get the fingers going and try to articulate nicely.

I wonder who isn't getting the point
Yes, there are a few groups I follow on Discord [1]. One of the groups has a link to another site I want to view and I click on it.

A mostly offline May
The weather that weekend was lovely, but there have also been a lot of summer thunderstorms lately. I shouldn't really say "but", there, the storms are lovely, too, I really enjoy them, they're just not conducive to cycling. For the past few days the river near our house, which we pass along pretty well daily on our evening walks, has been higher and flowing faster than I've seen it since I moved here, it's really something.

Emacs: Pull Random Gemini Capsules Part 2 (publ. 2024-06-05)
This has been helpful, but the main problem is the links still need to be parsed and then opened up in my gemini browser, Lagrange. I was doing this with a macro, which was not too bad, but had the idea that I should make something a little more general and convenient in elisp.
