Faith-filled and Faithless: Two Lamechs
I've had a hard time this summer, feeling sad a lot and struggling with ups and downs in my moods, but I feel like the Lord gave me something from my Bible reading that helped me get through so I thought I'd write about it here.
I was touched by the contrasts of the two Lamechs in Genesis 4 and 5. The genealogies briefly mention two different men named Lamech. The first Lamech mentioned was a vengeful, polygamous murderer. One may be tempted to believe this first mention of polygamy had nothing to do with the fact that Lamech was a murderer, but I'm not convinced that is true.

Morning Plans and Music
I had plans for today and they started going wrong pretty much first thing out of bed. Nothing bad happened, just a reminder that no matter how simple your expectations, there's always room for them to be—the usual word here is "subverted" but that's not quite right, let's say "diverted".
I woke up and headed to the kitchen to make some pancakes for my breakfast. But I was interrupted by the discovery that someone had made banana bread muffins the night before. Now no one would have objected if I had also made the pancakes I planned, but it felt superfluous. And I'm flexible with my breakfast carbs anyhow, so those will wait for another day. Right now, I will have a muffin.

Degrees of rushing to and fro
We've a guest keyboardist visiting for give days. My wife and I performed with him yesterday at a wonderful "open mic" event on a river property. Mostly he backed other participants, but I threw in a few licks for good *measure* (haha).

Re: Antenna Censorship
While I did not expect ew0k to change his mind about banning me, I was taken aback by how wilfully the rest of the community simply let it happen. I suppose I can't blame all of you, it's just a symptom of the world we live in: Some viewpoints are considered taboo while others aren't. When people aren't used to being under attack, they're often unsympathetic to those of us who are. That's why I attacked Antenna. I wanted to demonstrate what it's like to be the one who's censored and slandered.

Antenna Abuse
Antenna allows re-submission of entries with new timestamps, because the author may wish to update a post or remove it. It also allows a feed to contain entries from other top level domains, which one could argue is not a good idea. This is on purpose though I can't recall what my rationale for it was.

Re: Antenna Abuse
It's sad to see, that the trolls found their way to disrupt gemini services. This is why we can't have something good on the internet. Sooner or later those A-holes appear everywhere.

Old Computer Challenge 2024 Goals
I'm typing this on my ipad in the iSH terminal emulator, running Vim in Alpine Linux. I am away from home and this and my phone are my only computing devices. This keyboard isnt ideal but it's fine for now.

Petri Nets Log #009
However, not all is lost if the option is given the the programmer: the same strategy that is implemented in gen_pnet can be offered as an alternative, on a transition-by-transition basis. It should be used only as a last resort, because it's slow and most often it'll only be used for "RPC"-related paths, in the input interface places and internally. Another alternative is to choose a field of a tuple (e.g. the 1st) to serve as the "key" to group tokens of different places.
