There's still hope
As we recently pointed out here, a pretty major GNU/Linux distro had moved to Gemini (Salix). Its capsule is still being expanded. It has many sections and even pictures (over Gemini Protocol! Yes, it's possible!)
In other good news, only "62 (2.2 %) use the Certificate Authority Let's Encrypt," according to Lupa. That's significant. Only earlier this month we saw it at around 100. That number keeps coming down because more capsules self-sign and take control. Mozilla and others move in the opposite direction - closer to top-down Web censorship in the name of "safety" or "combating misinformation" (as in, information that isn't convenient to people who 'own' the Net, misplaced in the "loony bin" to "protect us").
The World Wide Web is hopeless in many ways. Its development and advancement are decided by few selfish corporations. Everyone else is merely a tenant and somebody to subject to profiling, advertising, subscriptions etc. █
