Separating the hats in leasehold
When people talk about leasehold blocks of flats, there's sometimes a conflation of some of the roles of the organisations involved. It can be quite frustrating and counterproductive. This article contains an extended analogy with the idea of "singer-songwriters" to illustrate how much of a problem this can be.

Too much thinking
Nem por acaso! came across this page on a book I'm reading that's completely relevant to the previous post. You can find the original PT transcription on the wiki. Here I'll share a basic EN translation.

September is here and I am excited about it
September is finally here, and I am very excited about it.
I love Autumn, I love seeing the tree leaves turn all shades of yellow and red, and I love that we still have a good amount of sunshine, but there is a nice breeze making the days cooler.
I have picked up running again, finally, and my plan is to run at least 3 times per week, for 30 to 60 minutes each time. I am currently only alternating walks to light jogs, as I am very out of shape and I don't want to risk an injury or to worn myself out right away and lose all motivation to continue. My plan for this week is to alternate 1.5 minutes of running with 2 minutes walks, so the amount of running is very small, only 9 minutes total out of a 19 minutes training session: this is a very light workout, but exactly what I want now.

September is here and I am excited about it
Finding a good balance with work and my personal life is really difficult for me, however if I want to prioritize my health and well being I need to learn how to not work myself to exhaustion every day, and also make space for my physical and mental health.

September comes. What a weird summer it has been. My hometown is much colder than I remember. As the years went on, I became much more detached from it. I don't know the names of people I keep bumping into. They don't know what those places, which they walk past, mean to me. Maybe this is how it should be, the purging of irrelevant history to give a chance to the new.

wake me up when september ends
August was a hell of a month for us. We ended up losing my father in law, which was a whole story I mentioned in my last musing here at the pub. I won't go too deep into the specifics, but he ended up having an issue that went septic and it was caught too late to do anything about it. It sucks, and I feel incredibly bad for my wife and my mother in law as they continue to get used to the idea of him not being around anymore. However, on the other side of the coin, we are glad that he is no longer in pain. It was obvious he was really going through it toward the end.

Drawabox Day Nine
Today's 50% rule: Dinosaur Classroom.
I've also gotten through the ghosted lines exercise and done one of my ghosted planes pages; I still have one more page of ghosted planes before I can move on to ellipses.

a wonderment, although dismissed, phenomena of online publishing
I have no one, as in NOT-A-SINGLE-PERSON in my day to day life to count on or look towards to have emotional support. The Clubhouse I went to had moral support. Emotional? nah. Selfish - them and me, I being me, and wanting what I wantr best for me, not them. Bonding occurred many times in life past, not in recent years.
So, with publishing online, what I CAN do, and DO rely on, are my own words. Midnight.pub entries on ~tffb, IRC exchanges, a personal page - these belong to me, are "for" me (albeit sometimes simultaneously being TO others), and I have myself and myself alone to account to what I say and how/why I say it.

breakfast babbles, coffee slurps, and the weather that cools down slowly
Looking around. I hear noises about, see no patrons in sight.
Confirming a clear path to my favorite stool, I make my way, sit, two fingers go into the air to motion to ~bartender - a coffee, please. Thank you.
61F this AM. A treat. getting to 78F, not so great, but tolerable. Not as bad as 108 for several hours of the day.
56F in the AM tomorrow. The mug steam rolls high on those mornings.
Smudge paces in front of me. Demanding pets, I maneuver the mug around his turning tail. Caffeine must be had, first thing.

My Experience Going Vegan - Day #1
My first full day of being vegan was out in London. The night before I ate in a delicious vegan restaurant and had a hemp and kimchi sausage. Unfortunately today I didn't have that luck since I only had 20 minutes to get something for lunch and was nowhere near a vegan restaurant. Thankfully Greggs was nearby and at least had something vegan, even though the cashier gave me a dirty look when I asked if any of the cakes were vegan. All in all though this is nothing that puts me off my choice.

My Experience Going Vegan - Day 2
Today was a big day for me, I went out for my first fully vegan shopping trip! It was a bit annoying having to check to see if everything I bought is vegan but ultimately not too bad. I've also decided to take this opportunity to remove processed foods from my diet as much as possible, so no vegan chocolates for me! Anyway, I'm sure you'll hear about some of the things I got in the following days.

Anarchist Library - Gemini Mirror Revived
Back in January I lost access to the original Anarchist Library project's Git repository. The Gemini mirror I built relies on having access to that repo, so it hasn't been updated since.
Someone recently brought another project to my attention: a forked version of the library that takes a decentralized approach to multi-language support.

gmlgcd public release
There is sentient life out there in geminispace! It kind of made my day. What did not make my day was that they immediately found a bug (lol). It was related to the fact that you can supply your own username while commenting, by prefixing your input string with something, seperated by a colon: [...]
I chose that copyleft license since in my opinion, there shouldn't be any motivation on geminispace to utilize software in a non-copyleft manner. Please respect this license!
