Apple Event as Fine Example of the "IT" Circus
I did not watch the latest Apple event, but I went through dozens of articles about it (it was inescapable as Apple pays big publishers to participate in hype, marketing, and advertising) and the common theme was buzzwords, notably "hey hi" (AI). This nicely related to what Andy wrote about clowns who nowadays govern many companies in the field of "IT" and decision-making roles in government. Call it "Clown Computing" or "hey hi", RMS recently spoke about these reasonably well. It represents the demise of technology and Apple is the leader in this regard. We saw the words "shiny" in articles, we saw some gimmicks mentioned, but no actual innovation.
Nada.
No wonder Apple has had several waves of layoffs this year - even as recently as weeks ago - and it's deep in debt (investing money in crap nobody wants to buy). At the end of last year we published "Chart of the Day: Apple's Debt Grew Nearly Tenfold in the Past Ten Years".
It's not clear if the enemy of Free software is a company like Apple is simply public ignorance that Apple keeps fostering. █
