[LSCMN] Report on the General Assembly of Wednesday 9 October

Report on the General Assembly of Wednesday 9 October

YESTERDAY the EPO's Local Staff Committee Munich (LSCMN) circulated the slides from a 'meeting' that had been virtually 'set up' in Germany (outsourced to Microsoft, even the voting got outsourced to Microsoft - an eye sore given the EPO's relationship with corrupt EPO management). It was done with browsers and "apps", unlike a physical meeting on the same week (different country).

Having published the "DRAFT RESOLUTION to be adopted on EPO procedures" and the final version too, today we just want to put the full report in the public domain along with the slides.

The report is a PDF:

On Wednesday 9 October, 820 colleagues from all EPO sites followed the third 2024 General Assembly of the Local Staff Committee Munich, Haar, Brussels (LSCMN).

Resolution on EPO procedures adopted & Presentation slides available

Dear colleagues,

On Wednesday 9 October, 820 colleagues from all EPO sites followed the third 2024 General Assembly of the Local Staff Committee Munich, Haar & Brussels (LSCMN).

We would like to thank everybody for their participation and for submitting questions during the event. EPO staff showed a clear interest in the topic of patent quality.

The presented slides can be found at the link below:

A resolution on EPO procedures was put to a vote. Staff of all EPO sites voted in favour of the resolution with an overwhelming majority: 773 voted in favour, 66 against and 52 abstentions.

The resolution urges the President and the Administrative Council to:

On 10 October 2024, the Central Staff Committee (CSC) sent the resolution to the President and the Administrative Council together with a cover letter.

Sincerely yours,

Notice in the slides above what they say and show about patent quality, including European software patents - i.e. patents which are both illegal and undesirable.

The EPO represents crimes in Europe that have already spread to the EU and nobody does anything about. Brussels is becoming more like Moscow.
