Visits to OpenAI's Site Plunged by More Than 67% in the Past Half a Year Alone
The company itself is insolvent, but its continued existence helps a 'gold rush' (false valuation of other companies)
JUDGING by what we see in github.com (archive for this month as the page changes over time), after one rough month the numbers are plateauing, sort of. Remember that the purpose of github.com seems to be an attack on copyleft enforcement, the GPL, and it is basically turning Free software into proprietary code. They just hope to somehow pass off plagiarism as "Hey Hi" (AI) or "fair use". The platform isn't growing, but it has some captive projects, including some that matter to us (both Raku and Perl make the same error of outsourcing to github.com and there are many more). Checking similar numbers (archive for this month) for openai.com, we see a considerable decrease of about 5% this past month:
To put this in perspective, 526M is about a third what it used to be, even less (notice it used to be at around 1,700M in March and April). It seems like the "Hey Hi" (AI) marketing hype may be coming to its end. People realise that this 'autocorrect on steroids' is mostly worthless. █
