From My Dreams Do I Wake?
Sometimes, after I've had a long night, and my sorrows scatter my thoughts as the moon behind the clouds, I feel myself falling into a swoon under a pair of sleepy eyelids.
And when I wake, and scant remember the dealings of what happened the night before, I often wonder, "was that me?"

Why I stopped using OpenBSD
Last month, I decided to leave the OpenBSD team as I have not been using OpenBSD myself for a while. A lot of people asked me why I stopped using OpenBSD, although I have been advocating it for a while. Let me share my thoughts.
First, I like OpenBSD, it has values, and it is important that it exists. It just does not fit all needs, it does not fit mine anymore.

Rain Music
Yep, going right into the gutter with this posting. So from top to bottom, one has rain (fake) going into a gutter (also, fake) and draining from fake holes that trigger something, here mapped to MIDI note_on events. The gutter accumulates rain, and then adjacent cells (roughly) even out the water level between them. Once certain (arbitrary, random) thresholds of (again, fake) water levels are reached, that bucket is drained and a MIDI note_on event is generated for that hole in the gutter, where a certain pitch is associated with a certain hole. Assuming that there are not any bugs in the code that contradict any of this description.

2024 Week 44/45/46: Status and Photos
I love the interfaces of both my F(x)tec Pro1 X and my ClockworkPi DevTerm, but I use them very little compared to my other devices. It's difficult for me to find the motivation to try switching to them for any significant period of time. This week it occurred to me why: I primarily use CLIs on both (and exclusively on the DevTerm), and it's hard for me to get information like news, weather and stocks through that format. Local news in particular is almost impossible to get on alternate protocols like Gopher or Gemini.

* Gemini (Primer) links can be opened using Gemini software. It's like the World Wide Web but a lot lighter.
