KillerStartups.com is an LLM Spam Site That Sometimes Covers 'Linux' (Spams the Term)
The Web is under attack. It's actually under several attacks, but this short post deals with only one type of these. It's sometimes called "slop", a form of spam that's worse than most spam because it is a kind of plagiarism, typically customised for SEO purposes, i.e to undermine search engines and take away hard work from other sites without attribution, without accuracy, without a way of finding originals that actually state facts and offer prime sources.
It's making things worse in every possible way, not to mention "traffic" or "engagement" aspects (those are secondary). Misinformation is always worse than no information.
We need to know (or "name and shame") the culprits/perpetrators. Those listed in Google - or worse, Google News (i.e. elevated further in visibility) - need to be delisted. A lack of attention will ultimately guarantee their demise, like "BNN Breaking".
It's important to call them out, as soon as possible, as the majority of the output is detected to have been made by LLMs, e.g. (new example)
Perhaps not too shockingly, all the images are low-grade plagiarism CG (a dead giveaway) and the "stories" are shallow copies of other people's work
It names "Monthly Sponsors". Why would anyone invest in this trash? It only serves to distract from real articles [1, 2]. █
