In South Africa, a Very Large Nation, Web Developers Can Already Ignore Microsoft Browsers (Edge Measured Below 3% in 55 Nations)
The dumb assumption you must naively test with Microsoft browsers is no longer applicable in a lot of places
There's often this discussion about whether Web developers can and will ignore Firefox and thus every Gecko-based browser. In the US the threshold for ignoring (as in not testing or ensuring compatibility) is set at 2%. In South Africa ("about 2.2 times bigger than France") the rules may be different. Maybe there are no rules at all. Looking at browser share figures, Edge is at 2.76%. That's very low! Chrome is at 75%. Chrome is now 81% up north in Botswana, probably because of Android. Microsoft has been having serious problems there [1, 2].
Looking at the international data, Edge is measured as follows in several independent nations:

55 nations have Edge measured lower than 3%. Here's the data as ODF.
