Social Control Media (Not Just TikTok) is a "Modern Challenge" to Democracy
What Carter the president (not the rapper) warned about on his way out:
Carter the wife and the husband are no longer with us (or with US). Carter the ex-president has just passed, 13 months after his wife (Rosalynn Carter, Former First Lady of the United States). The timing is somewhat striking not because tomorrow is the last day of the year but because only days ago the dictator who soon returns (despite conviction, insurrection, and sexual crimes) defended TikTok, the Social Control Media of BRICS. He meanwhile invites "masters" of other Social Control Networks to his private home (where there's no transparency short of FBI raids). We should expect sites like Facebook to become more pro-Trump (for financial reasons) and "normalise" the crimes.
Society is worse off with Social Control Networks. It interferes with independent thinking and breeds groupthink (conformity) as envisioned if not imposed by "masters" like MElon and Zuckerberg.
Social Control Networks do not amplify or empower dissent, they only provide an illusion of that. They milk away or drain energy; they deflate real activism for a mirage thereof and then hand over lists of activists/resistors to the authorities. Sometimes they're just a blunt instrument or weapon of foreign nations. █
