"The ZOOOM (3Os) Initiative promotes innovation based on freedom of software, hardware, and data," said the imposter organisation (FSF-EEE) yesterday. This is the same organisation that lobbied for Google when there were upload filters under discussion in the EU (they ended up adopting rules which clearly discriminate against small businesses/operations online), tried to destroy the FSF by joining and emboldening an online mob, and habitually relays talking points for Microsoft, its top sponsor.
Many people still refer to it as "FSF Europe" and wrongly assume FSF-EEE is some kind of 'branch' of the FSF. It's not.
Those wishing to support Software Freedom should help the FSF (it raised another $6,000 or so in the first half day of 2025, i.e. after the deadline). Those who tell people online to give money to "FSF Europe" instead of the FSF are typically Microsoft boosters who just watch the groupthink. They're looking fools with whom to "match the bribes" of Microsoft and double the effect of the splinter group, the fake.
Not only is "FSF Europe" not the FSF; it works hard to censor and intimidate those who say so. In that sense, the people who run "FSF Europe" are like modern-era (digital) "nazis", GAFAM operatives in a trench coat. █
