Edward Snowden Has Had a State But Not a Voice for 10 Years in Russia
Months after Russia invaded Ukraine (Crimea):
Well, Sir, with all due (great) respect, you have had no real freedom of expression for over a decade. Yes, you received asylum and later citizenship (a state that's accepting out of self-interest, not looking to imprison you), but you cannot speak your mind out.
Edward Snowden is still in a difficult situation (not exactly of his choosing). If he leaves for the US, Trump will arrest and maybe execute him (without him having to even say anything). In Russia, Edward Snowden cannot say anything "bold" about the regime, the war etc.
Unless he wants to be sent to the frontline to "serve his country" (which is how Vladimir Putin kills many prisoners or political enemies). █
