In Europe, Russia's Yandex About to Become Bigger Than Microsoft's Bing, Google Search Estimated to Have Grown Since the LLM Hype Began
Having just mentioned a false narrative about Google (not that its results in "Search" suck but that it's losing share), let's consider what statCounter sees in Europe this year.
Bing fell sharply since "BING CHAT", with no gains made since the LLM hype except for Google and Yandex gains. So this idea that "BING CHAT" would be a "GOOGLE KILLER" and "GOOGLE IS DOOMED" was just fantasy. We said this right from the start. We got this right.
The main question right now is, what next for "Bing"? Yet more Microsoft layoffs? Another rebrand? Remember that Bing had many layoffs in the past 2 years, the corporate media barely reported on those.
In the forums at TheLayoff.com people say that layoffs are typically announced on Tuesday (someone said this hours ago in relation to IBM) and since last Tuesday was a holiday and layoffs in December are rare (bad timing, insensitive due to Christmas) we can expect to see many headlines about layoffs later today (the US-based Silicon Valley reaches Tuesday some minutes from now).
Layoffs at Microsoft will continue this year. There's already this smokescreen - proactive misdirection by Microsoft president Brad Smith. Microsoft is still about 100,000 million dollars in DEBT (100 BILLION). It's not in a position to invest in anything other than severance payments to workers it'll fire in 2025. Azure was a failure that allegedly loses billions, so what's the point building more datacentres? Misleading shareholders? Cooking the books? █
