[Meme] Real and Fake (or "several influential "open source" organizations [which] have come to be dominated by large companies")
"In recent years, several influential "open source" organizations have come to be dominated by large companies. Large companies are accustomed to seeking indirect political power, and astroturf campaigns are one of their usual methods." - Free Software Foundation (yesterday)
Real:
Fake: (Microsoft a top sponsor or "Patron" as they call it)
The latest statement from the Free Software Foundation's Board of Directors seems like it's "having a go" at the Linux Foundation (where the most dominant company is Microsoft), Microsoft-dominated OSI (Microsoft speaks for the OSI now!), and Microsoft-funded fake 'FSF', which is misusing the name. Those collaborate among one another, e.g. in their campaigns of defamation and efforts to oust principled people from the FSF. Even the SFC took money from Microsoft and the person who did this for the SFC is now causing chaos inside Python, having groomed the OSI for Microsoft as Interim GM.
The Free Software Foundation has not sold out and if over the coming week it can raise an average of 5 thousand dollars per day, it'll meet its funding target. █
