IBM Layoffs in 2025: Rumours Say Even Managers Will Get the Axe, Some Via Loopholes Like PIP and/or RTO (Preparations Already Underway)

Scuffed black boot

Who's getting the boot next?

Some background: PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) as an Instrumental But Largely Hidden (From the Public) Extra Layer of IBM's Workforce Reductions | R.T.O. is Another Name (or Acronym) for Voluntary Layoffs

R.T.O. at IBM: (also see "IBM Layoffs (or Replacement With Low-Cost Labourers) Far Greater Than Reported by IBM")

2025 RTO? Any chance of this happening across more divisions in IBM in q1? (Cough couch, ICS) who has the tea?

From the past 24 hours:

Wait until after the 2024 q4 earnings call on January 29th. When the numbers are not good, axe will fall soon after.

There are some rumours floating online about IBM layoffs in the making. Some people inside IBM can see things and some merely hear things (it's really hard to police or muzzle the 'grapevine'). We wrote about this before (e.g. "More IBM Layoffs (2025)" and "More Details Emerge About Upcoming Long-Rumoured Layoffs at IBM") and the above - only hours old - says "after the 2024 q4 earnings call on January 29th [...] the numbers are not good, axe will fall soon after."

Brace for impact:
