Certificate Authority Let's Encrypt Falls to Only 0.4% of the Total in Geminispace
Certificate Authorities (CAs) aren't real security; if controlled by a cabal of untrusted and reckless third parties that block mentions of "Linux", they're more like "CIA" (Geminispace does not need to outsource trust)
ACCORDING TO THE latest statistics gathered by Lupa (analyser and a Geminispace crawler), the known and active Gemini capsules barely use the Linux Foundation's CA anymore. One more known capsule shed off that CA*, leaving the total at an "all-time" low**.
Quoting the statistics page: "2670 (91.3 %) capsules are self-signed, 12 (0.4 %) use the Certificate Authority Let's Encrypt, 241 (8.2 %) are signed by another CA (may be not a trusted one)." (Updated 16 hours ago)
Let's wait and see how long it takes before the total drops below 10. █
