Adding Slop to Your Blog Only Makes One Assume All the Text is LLM Slop
Simon Coter from Oracle has turned to slop:
WHEN people publish something about a "webinar", it's usually safe to assume it's a paid-for commercial or company running ads one can attend and watch live. When blogs like the above (a manager, not a low-level employee) start adding image slop, one is led to assume the blogger ran out of steam or motivation.
Sadly, many other sites that tried the same died. Here are a couple of examples:
linuxhint.com pretty much died just months after experimenting with all this image slop.
The same goes for linuxcapable.com. In past years it was very active and then it suddenly died or barely produced anything anymore. All the images are slop:
Be suspicious when stumbling upon sites that look like this. They're experimenting. They promote slop. █
