Microsoft's Serial Strangler and Matthew J. Garrett Join Forces in Trying to Gag Techrights (for Exposing Microsoft Corruption and Crimes Against Women)

Solicitors in UK warned not to act as ‘hired guns’ to silence critics of super-rich

In recent days we wrote about a debt-saddled law firm with notoriously low standards (the legal industry recognises this) taking instructions from Microsofters with Microsoft money in the bank. The target of the threats they issue (they themselves admit those are "threats"; they use this word explicitly) is a bunch of articles about Microsoft, trying to twist various unrelated laws such as "privacy" stuff to stress how "illegal" it is to show illegal things (with actual evidence; otherwise it's simpler to try and deny the facts).

Here's how it started (mind the date; it's crucial for future coverage):

BRETT WILSON LLP: Our client: Balabhadra Graveley

OUR CLIENT, by BRETT WILSON LLP: We are instructed by our client in respect of a claims...

This firm is still being paid in 2025 by this same person and also instructed by him. Did they ask him about what came earlier? Like empty threats (for years) or even begging? Did they skip all that? How come?

With this E-mail they set a deadline exactly 8 hours before the Techrights Web site's 18-year anniversary (and party)! The site contains over 100,000 pages, documents, images, PDFs etc. (many are exclusives!)

There need no longer be doubt about where money for these SLAPP-loving lawyers - filed by objectionable people - comes from. Microsoft. The UK anti-SLAPP coalition dubbed these "guns for hire" and in this case they serve (as in, profit from) foreigners from a whole different continent. Does a law degree entitle a person to become "reputation management" (laundering) under the veil of "enforcing laws"?

A little while later we'll have more to say, including the timing. The timing alone says a lot.

Now it is 100% clear that Matthew J. Garrett (MJG et al) or the GNOME/Mono/Novell crew is acting for Microsoft. They are talking and they are coordinating. Some people warned me they would attempt to do this in coordination, especially every time they reach dead-end scenarios (someone else whom they did this to told me this back in April; he said they would attempt this, based on his own experiences).

Suffice to say, the above is a shot in the foot or an own goal, not just for Matthew J. Garrett. The whole plot unravels at this stage, after 13 years of endless provocation and libel against me and my family.

Whose terrible idea was it?

Did they not realise they show the trail leading back to Microsoft, including a CEO at Microsoft? (More on that another day)

In other words, it may be corporate action under the veil of something else. Matthew J. Garrett. (MJG) specifically mentioned Graveley to me in the past, even repeatedly. They are communicating now. They work together.

The date above has a special significance. We'll explain that significance some times in the future to avoid overwhelming readers with too much information in a single day. We're in no particular rush, we just need proper transparency as other bloggers/publishers are subjected to similar tactics/attacks and we've always overcome the attackers, even a decade ago when the EPO tried them (it even hired several law firms in London to constantly stalk, threaten and harass me).

In response to the above we've filed a couple of lawsuits [1, 2]. The pertinent details will be disclosed one day.

We've staved off, explained, thwarted, and completely defeated bigger attacks than these before; this latest one (with obvious duality) will be no exception. At this point what the clowns above are doing is just "A Gift That Keeps on Giving". Poor legal research - if any was done at all (upfront*) - just wasted a lot of Microsoft money. Don't order a meal you cannot finish**.

_____

* Perhaps this debt-saddled law firm was just so eager and even desperate for money that it either did no research or misrepresented it to the client. A year ago Dave Ramsey said: "We all reap what we sow. If you plant corn, don’t be surprised when corn grows. Choose today to continually plant something good and watch it grow!" Seven years ago he said: "We live in a cause/effect and sowing/reaping world. When I plant Stupid in my life I get a full crop of Broke and Desperate."

** As the old saying goes: "If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither on your side, pound the table." Brigading in social control media is not the equivalent of courts or of justice; it's just lots of pounding on some table. See "The Practice of Ritual Defamation" - that's just what Matthew J. Garrett (MJG) spent over a decade doing in Twitter, targeting all sorts of people while his spouse did the same (and got sued for it).
