RTO for You, But Not for Me: How IBM's Managers Try to Disguise Layoffs as "Resignations" or "Retirements"
A couple of years ago I told the story of how Sirius Open Source with its so-called 'managers' (zero experience and zero qualification in management!) compelled everyone to adopt time-tracking "applications", except the managers didn't do that themselves. This infuriated staff, which pushed back, causing one of those fake managers to cry (she was a truly abhorrent employee who nobody likes, but she lied for the CEO who defrauded his own staff).
According to this hours-old thread, the "RTO" loophole (for disguising the true scale of layoffs) is exploited right now at IBM:
IBM's management is truly reviled at this point. The messages in that forum just blast not only the incompetent CEO (buzzwords-spewing buffoon) but also his peers. There are many new examples in this thread, including: "He looks like he ate his $37 million in hamburgers. And yes, it's ok to fat shame him. He can afford Ozempic. He has health insurance. Meanwhile, people have been made food insecure by this greedy pustule's actions. The guy is shoveling wagyu burgers and truffle fries with his greasy, fat fingers into his fat piehole as he trims the bottom line with your lives."
Sounds a lot like the fake manager above (the one who cried and helped the CEO commit crimes against her colleagues).
