Over 2 Years of LLM Hype and Nothing to Show for It
Microsoft's CEO recently admitted that there was no "killer app" for LLMs and Microsoft just didn't manage to find or make any. It just bundles/bolts that into almost everything for hype's sake and to pretend usage (however artificial and superficial) is still going up. Even when it goes down.
The LLM hype started in late 2022 when Scam Altman was hailed by bribed media like he was a star, not some guy whose own sister sued him for sexual abuse; the media was compelled to talk about Scam like he was the next Albert Einstein, even if he was just some immature brat and loser who sponsors Donald Putin, a serial sexual abuser who even talks about his own daughter like a sexual object he'd date (it gets worse).
Thankfully we can look back in 2025 at all those dumb media pieces about how Google was "doomed". That just didn't happen. People still use search, not chatbots. Bing has lost share and has had many layoffs since then. The media barely mentioned those layoffs. Media blackout?
Thankfully for Microsoft, Skype and Windows are still doing well. Oh, wait. Never mind [1, 2]. █
