Remaking my website
I’ve spent the past 3 months resuscitating my personal website, which I started back in 2018. It’s hosted on Nearly Free Speech dot net. The service is described by its proprietor as “For people who want to change their own oil on their website.” I decided to finally dig in and bring it closer to what I’d always hoped it would be.

There’s pretty much nobody IRL with whom I can discuss my excitement on these matters. But now I’m also coming to the hardest part of all: actually getting down to writing what I have to say. Daring to try and have a voice.

About (2020–2025)
When I started this capsule in late 2020, I thought to myself “How can I make it so the work of writing for the Internet is as pleasant as possible? How can I keep the friction of writing as low as possible?”
I settled on having no build step for the site itself, like I would with Hugo (a popular and very good static-site generator). I would just write, and then reupload everything when I wanted to publish or update something.

But using LLMs running on Other People’s Computers feels weird for this kind of challenge. Of course, if you’re running it on hardware in your own home…)
So I’d like to offer these very related suggestions in the spirit of the challenge if you’re not quite up to doing OFFLFIRSOCH yourself: [...]

Devlog 11
Progress is slow these days due to the job hunt and other projects being more pressing. However, progress is being made. I recently did some work in React that made me remember how much I like Vue, so I decided to spend some time working on Vue code this morning.
