They Were Known for Boring
There were three main trails we took when we were *paseando* just outside of Fresneda.
[...]
We took this trail the most often. In fact, Michal and Mirka accompanied us to the waterfall at one point. Michal took a dip in the frigid pool into which the water cascaded.

the horn
It went well. Chops crapped out after an hour. Visualizing a 16th to 8th inch straight space between the lips is working really well. Was able to hit some 2 As and Bbs. Got through one aria no problem and Nica's Dream. Maiden Voyage was a challenge; those long tones. That might be what did me in.

I Want to Show and Tell Someone's Music
About 6 months ago, I made an oath to listen to 6 albums. It was important that I listen to each album "in order" without skipping or going out of order. I won't go into detail about my progress quite yet... with that said, I'm frustrated because of some music I was recommended on Youtube (I know I wrote a post about being annoyed that "Youtube Won"... I'm a hypocrite for continuing to use it when it keeps doing the cat and mouse game and "winning" often enough in that game... I won't explain myself, as I sometimes get recommended unknown diamonds in the rough with only 60 or so views, even if I normally tend to hate youtube with a burning passion... moving on though...).

What's in a Day?
Sleeping in - a bit, but not too much. A slow breakfast. Coffee. A walk with the dogs. 4 miles or so. A little less than two hours.
Coming home and taking a long shower, though not necessarily to get clean. Sex in the early afternoon. Another shower, as hot as we can stand. Downstairs to turn the kettle on. A pot of strong, black tea.

looking for love
I'm looking for love in the wrong places
I'm lost and hope for someone to save me
I don't know how to love anymore and expect someone to teach me
Who could that be? Who could love someone that doesn't love

Elon Musk: A Greek Tragedy
I don't know about four years ago. I think he jumped the shark long before that. He made the "pedo guy" comment back in 2018. Maybe it would be more appropriate to say that he jumped the submarine in 2018 than to say he jumped the shark? Anyhow, he has been ultra-wealthy for decades, and therefore, a threat in my book. There are no good ones.

Suprising chemical signature in ultra-hot nova
I'm always keeping an eye out for reports of "surprising" observations by secular astronomers, as they usual challenge theory in some way.

From Zero to ProtonMail at the CLi
I wrote this up as a tutorial for a friend around the same time I was investigating the problem with deleting email from ProtonMail via the bridge. I was still polishing it and hadn’t published it, but today wanted some information from it and couldn’t access it because it wasn’t published. It’s mostly complete in that it is a complete process, but it doesn’t explain very much of what’s happening. But, I’m going to publish it anyway.

Analog: Ngspice, Cookie Box (publ. 2025-03-12)
Yesterday I experimented with using hierarchical sheets in KiCAD and refining the inverter schematic and simulation. I figured out how to map the op amp pins correctly to the model and how to use hierarchical labels. I made a slight adjustment to the LM358 model so that there was 0V offset, rather than the default 2mV, with the idea of having a more ideal analog module.
Here is a screenshot of the root schematic page where two inverters are chained together, which should be an identity function. I attenuate the final stage so we can see that line distinctly on the graph.

Why I've been silent
I'm just going to get right into it. I've been keeping myself mostly offline for a while, only jumping online to read some heavily curated RSS feeds, deal with a few problems, chat with my partners, and watch some videos with one of said partners. Otherwise, I keep myself pretty much oblivious to most of the internet.
Like, I still browse the smolweb occasionally, but most of my time has been helping take care of family, reading, catching up on old games I never got to play in the past, listening to music, and overall trying to keep my anxiety as low as possible. I've also gone back to my blog[0], partly as a middle claw to the people who tell me I'm "just feeding the AI machine" by doing so, and admittedly, that mentality is why I've been staying off the smolnet a bit more.
