statCounter Sees Microsoft Windows Falling to New, Unprecedented Lows in Palau
A year ago we saw Windows detected on few clients in Palau (less than one in six Web requests) and later in the same year we saw sporadic big gains for ChromeOS and GNU/Linux.
Looking at it today (almost the end of March), Windows is down sharply, whereas ChromeOS and GNU/Linux have bounced up a lot this past year. Taking Android into account, Windows is now down to an all-time low of 14%:
"Microsoft's market share is down drastically, but not where it counts: among OEMs," an associate has noted. "The numbers there are improving, but still less good than they need to be for the good of the public and for software freedom to be accessible to average people and / or businesses."
Hopefully this will change soon, but the Linux Foundation won't lift a finger because it works for Microsoft. β
