LLM Slop Piggybacking News About GNU/Linux and Distorting It
Today is a relatively slow news day and it's expected to be sunny, so it's going to be 'coffee ritual' and time outdoors. But having said that the news is slow, consider how all those recent articles about a patch in Ubuntu got turned into LLM slop (with image slop) some hours ago:
It's not a real article but a bot spewing out other people's work. Plagiarism blender.
There's also this example of a CachyOS release being covered by real journalists like Bobby and Marius and even Jack Wallen earlier this month. Having found some real articles about CachyOS, guess what BetaNews did:
LLM slop:
At best, it's "hybrid". At best. Typical Fagioli. Once you slop you can't stop. Maybe he thinks adding an image and changing some words makes it OK; so he got LLM slop, then edited it, then said he wrote an article. The reputation of BetaNews is down the drain. The Managing Editor Wayne William seems aware of this issue, but can he babysit Fagioli and double-check everything Fagioli publishes? █
